I ripped this (my own DVD) with disk utility, so it's safe, for those of you who might be concerned. Also it does not need a serial number. Apple doesn't require those for any of it's core products. They assume you'll buy them and they don't need to lock you down. ;-) But seriously though, if you like this you should consider buying it (not to get too preachy or anything).

You do not need to burn the .dmg file in order to install. Only do that if you want to back it up or install on a computer other than the one on which you downloaded it.

Ok, nice if you could spell. Remember the old days, when you would just click to download a torrent and then go do something else for a day? It's freakin 2.91 GB and my upload speed is about 562 kB/s, which is pretty good for non fiber optic, which they don't have in my area. I am seeding. If the world revolved around you, which you apparently think it does, It would still take 1 hour 30 minutes 25 seconds to seed it to JUST YOU!

Hey seeder!! Instead of posting a cover shot that I could simply go to Apple's website and print off myself. Why don't you lay out the DVD that's in the box. How about a recipt since you say you bought it? This guy has hardly any ups an the rest of you run and download it. That's really gonna suck if it has a backdoor or some other sort of malicious code in it. Plus, wouldn't there be other ups? Is this the only guy that bought a copy today?

@ all: if you compress with DropDMG and use highest compression rate in the prefs you can squeeze down a DVD image tremendously.

LEECHERS > SEEDERS

You have to wait until the majority of leechers finish. That or the leechers need to seed what they already have.

There are very many stories in the relevant Apple Discussions forum that point to widespread problems of a very serious kind, most of them having to do with the iLife '11 installation process and/or the Library update process that occurs when you first open your photo Library(ies) with the new version of iPhoto. There are numerous reports of people having lost large portions of their photo libraries, the photos then being recoverable only via hard-core utilities such as Data Rescue 3 (which of course does not recover any of your albums, ratings, titles, or the rest).

Bugs and glitches

So with all these new features, why am I not jumping up and down with excitement? One big reason: iPhoto '11 is the buggiest piece of software Apple's delivered in my memory.

Apple's support boards are overflowing with unhappy upgraders. Many claim they have lost all of their photos, which could be true in some cases. It's also possible something went wrong with the library upgrade, and the photos are there but the database has become corrupted. Reportedly Apple is working on a fix, and if true, it needs to be a fast one. Make sure you have a good backup before you install.

installed this flawlessly.
Then i updated the software.
Then when i open iphoto it updates my photo library.
And It Looks Great!
All my photos and folders and faces updated perfectly.
The Full Screen Mode is PERFECT!

Update-able Software gets a 15 out of 10 score!!!

You need OSX 10.6.3 (ie snow leopard) at least to install this software. This will not install on anything less. Pity because snow leopard sucks ass compared to leopard.

For those people getting the iPhoto issue (where it says you must install the latest version of software)... just run the OSX software updater and get latest version. Will run fine after that.

@uRabbit: Yes, iWeb is included. As is GarageBand, iPhoto, iMovie, and a few other good one's.
@cmcminn: There is no 1 icon to open iLife. There should be new applications, like a guitar for GarageBand, etc... if u don't see any of these, then maybe try running CleanMyMac, then restarting, and installing again. :) Hope this helps :)
